The manto tupinambá, or açoiaba tupinambá, is a sacred garment for some Indigenous Brazilian peoples, traditionally used in ceremonies and rituals. Made with bird feathers, the manto holds deep cultural and spiritual symbolism. During colonization, many of these mantos were stolen by Europeans, resulting in the limited recognition and understanding of their history and significance today. The loss and dispersion of these mantos have hindered the appreciation and acknowledgment of this important Indigenous Brazilian heritage
